One Roseville company has acquired another in a deal that puts doctors and technology together.

The buyer is Kura MD Inc., founded in 2013 to develop a web-based system to put physicians face to face with patients over the Internet.

It bought TeleMed2U, a multi-specialty medical group that provides real-time, audio-video medical appointments via teleconferencing. The company was founded in 2010.

No price is being released on the deal, which pairs a telemedicine practice, which includes a network of hospitals, clinics and nursing facilities, with secure communications technology.

More than just a live streaming chat with a physician, the Kura platform allows for the patient to send blood pressure, heart rate, blood oxygen and other vital signs to the doctor over a private channel. The system also takes care of administration, insurance and billing for the online visit. Read more.
